Hi! I'm Suzan.
I’ve always believed that a business owner needs to be involved in their own marketing — even if they have someone else executing it. No one knows their business better. More than that – when they talk about their business, they need to be able to echo their own marketing message.
And so I’ve made a career out of helping business owners design and feel empowered about their own marketing. It’s been my passion for the last 15 years of running my own marketing business.
I like helping business owners learn how to do their own marketing. Teaching and coaching is fun, and I love helping people find their way through a process. More than anything, I enjoy seeing clients’ eyes light-up — watching the fear fall away as understanding takes hold.

Specialties
While helping clients in one-on-one and small group settings, I am also designing courses to help introverted business owners learn to show up as their authentic selves while marketing in a largely extroverted world.
Most of my clients are introverts, so they struggle with the types of "put yourself out there" marketing strategies that are so prevalent today. Our goal, then, is to help them establish a marketing strategy that is authentic to their personal style. Sometimes it means identifying tactics that work from an introverted stance, and sometimes it means helping my clients strategically step out of their comfort zone.
How did I get here?
I started my previous business, TheCommCoach, in 2009. For my first nine years, I helped small business owners design their own marketing strategies, communicate effectively about their businesses, and make informed marketing decisions that generate great results. Because my specialty was email marketing, I partnered with Constant Contact to run workshops to teach business owners how to incorporate email marketing into their larger marketing plans.
Prior to that, my last corporate job was as a Marketing Manager with an international publisher. Earlier in my career, I worked in many different industries including fitness, technology, academics, and the military. I have a B.A. in Communication from the University of Delaware and an M.A. in Communication from the University of Montana. In the end, communication is the base of everything I do.
I’m a certified Leadership Coach through Georgetown University; I hold the PCC credential through the International Coach Federation (ICF). I was grateful when ICF’s local New England chapter honored me with the Business Coach of the Year award in 2013.
I am Inbound Certified through Hubspot and a Certified Solution Provider with Constant Contact, who named me a Solution Provider All Star Award Winner for 2014, 2016, 2017, and 2018. This annual award recognizes the most successful 10 percent of Constant Contact’s Solution Providers, based on their significant achievements using email marketing to drive results for their clients. (In other words: My clients’ emails get great open rates!)
What else is there?
When I’m not busy contemplating about how authenticity truly connects us to the world and each other, I can be found swimming, running, cycling, petting my office rabbit, or asking my cats, “Why can’t we all just get along?” My fiancé and I love to travel when we can, but our brood of animals keeps us tied pretty close to home.
